Exxon's Sable Offshore Project Ends Operations After 20 Years

All production from the Sable Offshore Energy Project has been permanently shut down, according to a government report.
The project had been producing for approximately 20 years (since 1999) from a site offshore Nova Scotia and was operated by ExxonMobil.
The company formally announced its plan to decommission the site in March 2018, stating: "ExxonMobil Canada as operator of the Sable Project is progressing an application with the National Energy Board (NEB) related to the eventual abandonment of Sable’s 26” offshore gathering pipeline, as well as the Goldboro Gas Plant. Submission of the formal Leave to Abandon Application occurred in March 2018."
